Country Home’s two Giant Adventure Jungle Indoor Playgrounds are age-appropriate, multi-level structures with climbing tubes, tunnels, slides, activity panels and even an elevated tree house/fort with drums and a telescope! The suspension bridge enhances the development of balance and various climbing apparatuses help promote hand-eye coordination. Our Indoor Playgrounds encourage wonderful physical play that aids in the gross motor development of our students in a climate-controlled environment. Classes rotate to the Indoor Playground regularly so the children have their playground time even in the event of poor weather!
Our beautiful, heavily wooded, outdoor playgrounds are equipped with a variety of multiple state-of-the-art, exciting climbing structures, swings, creature and car spring riders, balance beams, and imaginative playhouses. Each spacious playground is designed for a specific age group and utilizes age-appropriate equipment, providing a unique, protected and safe environment for the enjoyment of our students. In addition, our outdoor amphitheater offers a natural setting for theatrical performances. Outdoor play aids in the development of gross motor skills, including balance and coordination, and promotes the physical health of our children. Classes are scheduled for visits to the outdoor playgrounds every morning and afternoon.
Another unique element of Country Home outdoor play is our very own, custom-designed Putt-Putt Golf course. A non-sequential layout allows play for numerous children at one time. The nine-hole course includes an exciting, colorful maze of golfing challenges specifically designed for our young students and future golf pros! As always, parents are encouraged to join their children in any activity and they are more than welcome to share a few laughs with us on our beautiful “back five.”
At select locations where space is available Country Home also includes a soccer field in our playground repertoire. Children are encouraged to engage in friendly soccer matches and other organized games. These activities are designed to help the children improve their gross motor skills and coordination, and encourage fair play, cooperation and leadership. For those children wishing to take a breather or simply just watch and cheer for their friends, we have sports benches or picnic tables for their viewing pleasure.
Country Home Waterpark and Splash Deck
The Country Home Waterpark is designed with the children’s safety as our top priority; therefore, the maximum depth is 18 inches. The Waterpark includes a beach entry (gradual, textured slope with no edge), a giant frog slide, and multiple water-spraying “creatures.” A giant mushroom provides a cascading waterfall, and water is randomly tipped out of coconuts located high in a palm tree.
The Country Home Wet Deck is a water play area designed for safety and excitement for all ages, ranging from our youngest Toddlers to our Summer Campers and After School children. Large pipes spray water from the mouths of animals and an underground bubbling system shoots jets of water into the air.
With both the Waterpark and Splash Deck, water is continuously filtered utilizing a complete filtration system to help ensure a healthy environment. Our trained Waterpark Supervisor (who serves in addition to your child’s regular classroom teacher) maintains the highest standards in safety and fun in all of our Country Home aquatic environments.
The Country Home Waterpark is open at all locations, and our Splash Deck has been added to the locations where space permits.
Gym and Performance Studio
A complete basketball court and gym is available for climate-controlled recess, inclement weather play, and our optional tap/ballet and karate classes. Basketball hoops, a multitude of balls, jump ropes, hula-hoops, a tumbling mat and even a parachute are among the many items available to encourage physical exercise and team play. Elementary school aged children also enjoy the added benefit of playing air hockey, ping-pong and foosball.
As part of our Physical Education Program, instruction in dance, rhythm and movement activities are the focus of the Performance Studio in our Gym. A full-wall mirror allows children to be able to monitor their own body movements, and mats provide a padded surface for tumbling. Our Dance Instructor (who serves as additional supervision along with the classroom teacher) guides the students in games, songs and dances as they learn to develop their listening and rhythm abilities, coordination and balance. Optional weekly tap/ballet and karate classes are available for an additional fee.
Horseback Riding at Adventure Quest
Our older students in the San Antonio schools make regularly-scheduled field trips to Adventure Quest, a privately owned ranch located in Boerne, Texas. Our children enjoy pony rides, inflatable water slides, a petting zoo and an old-fashioned General Store where they are provided tokens for the purchase of treats! Children are instructed on how to approach a horse safely, as well as the proper mounting and balancing techniques during rides. A shaded playscape, swings, a volleyball court and picnic tables with snacks and refreshments are located nearby and available for children as they rotate to the horseback riding arena. During the school year each visit also includes a new and exciting special arts and crafts project for the children to take home!
