Often families that head into one of our Country Home locations are new to the area, and they don’t know about all the fun family activities that the San Antonio/Austin area has to offer. If you happen to be one of our new arrivals and are looking for a fun way to beat the heat in South Texas, then look no further than the family favorite Schlitterbahn Water Park! Located conveniently halfway between Austin and San Antonio in New Braunfels, Schlitterbahn is the perfect place for family members of all ages to have a one-of-a-kind, wet and wild time!
Just like Country Home, Schlitterbahn is family owned and operated. They first opened their doors in 1979. Because family fun is a priority at their park, they welcome that you bring your own picnic, and they always have free parking, tubes, and life jackets. Ticket prices range from $61 to $71, but they often offer coupons, and you can ultimately save money by purchasing a season pass or bundling different tickets or multiple day passes. You can even show up late in the afternoon and purchase discount tickets for just the last part of the day.
Come and make lifetime memories at the world’s best-ranked water park for the past 15 years. With 70 acres of fun, and over 40 attractions, Schlitterbahn is sure to keep your family entertained any day this summer. On their 70 acres, Schiltterbahn includes miles of tube chutes and rivers, the first ever surfing ride, seven water playgrounds, and accelerating speed slides. During the summer they are open every day of the week.
Because of Schlitterbahn’s highly successful location in New Braunfels, they began opening more locations. They now own water parks in Kansas City, Galveston, and South Padre Island. Learn more about how to plan your next visit at one of their locations by visiting their website, and have the “Hottest, Coolest Time in Texas! Come Play” at Schlitterbahn.
Fun Fact: I bet you didn’t know that the name Schlitterbahn comes from the German phrase “slippery road.”
