Dinosaur statues at Dinosaur Valley State Park

Spring break is almost here. If you’re lucky enough to get some time off when the kids do, then it may be the perfect time to squeeze in a family trip and log some quality time with the whole fam.
If you’re looking for some spring break trip ideas that are relatively close to home, here are some to consider:

Galveston & Moody Gardens

A few hours from Austin and just a bit further from San Antonio, Galveston Island offers seaside fun. Moody Gardens’ aquarium, IMAX theater and other attractions provide lots of opportunities for family fun.

Dinosaur Valley State Park

Just outside Dallas/Fort Worth near the town of Glen Rose is Dinosaur Valley State Park. You can camp at the park or stay nearby. This state park features huge dinosaur staues that kids will love as well and preserved dinosaur fossils.

Longhorn Caverns State Park

Located in Marble Falls, TX, Longhorn Caverns is a local wonder and one of the very few river-formed caverns in Texas. The earliest inhabitants may very well have been the Comanche Indians, and the caverns were later used by the Confederate Army to secretly manufacture gun powder for the Civil War. Today, you can take eco tours and explore the beautiful surroundings.
