BiblioTech San Antonio Digital Library

The first public digital library of it’s kind, BiblioTech, opened on September 14, 2013 right here in San Antonio. Located at 3505 Pleasanton Road, BiblioTech will offer free memberships to Bexar County residents. As outlined on their website, members will be able to utilize the following services:

  • Reading e-books
  • Internet services
  • Computer classes
  • Laptop, desktop and tablet access
  • Check-out an e-reader
  • Bring their kids for story time
  • Reserve study/meeting space

BiblioTech says that members will be able to “access approximately 10,000 current titles through e-readers that they can check out to take home or read on the premises.  Residents will also be able to use their own e-readers or tablets to access the collection.”

Of special interest to parents is the fact that BiblioTech will start out with 200 pre-loaded enhanced e-readers for children. That will be in addition to 600 e-readers, 48 computer stations, 10 laptops and 40 tablets to use on-site.

If you’re raising a little book worm or just want to check out something new in San Antonio, head on over to the BibloTech. And if you go, leave a comment and let us know what you think.
