Traditionally everyone waits until February before getting hyped for Valentine’s day, but we thought we’d get a jump on it this year and share a few easy-to-make Valentine’s Day cards that your kids can take to school for their friends.
More often than not, we find ourselves in the grocery store the night before the Valentine’s party looking for a box of card and maybe some lollipops to tape to the card, but this year we’ve vowed to be different, to be proactive, and to create something just a bit more special.
Luckily for us, Pinterest is there to save the day. We were really happy to find so many great ideas that did not involve candy. It seems like regardless of what holiday is being celebrated, kids get plenty of candy so it’s nice to offer something a little different. This year we found some great Valentine’s cards that used glow sticks and crazy straws as the treat and your custom card can fit right around them.
Here are a few of the pics we found on Pinterest:

With either one of these ideas, you and your child could draw a special Valentine’s Day card, and then make as many color copies as you need. They can then be cut out and attached by using tape, string, or a hole punch to create two holes that the straw or glow stick can slip right through.
Either idea is great and something most kids will love. Give it a try and let us know what you think!
