General Information
As fall approaches, we look forward to cooler weather. Please remember to send a light jacket or sweater (labeled with your child’s name) for those chilly mornings that turn into warm afternoons.
Each October we offer scheduled parent-teacher conferences for students in our Toddler through Excel classes. A sign-up sheet to reserve a conference time will be posted on each classroom door. We encourage all parents to take advantage of this opportunity to discuss with your child’s teacher any interests or concerns you may have.
The State of Texas mandates that childcare centers monitor vision and hearing screenings for 4-year-olds and Country Home Excel students. If you have recently had this performed by your personal physician, please provide a copy of the screening results to the Front Desk. If your child’s vision and hearing have not been tested this year, please check with the Director regarding the scheduled date for an independent screening offered at Country Home at a discounted rate.
The cooler temperatures of Fall provide the ideal environment for the outdoor portion of our QUEST Curriculum!! We all know that the outdoors is a great place for children to stretch their muscles, express themselves vocally, and expend their endless energy supply. We also know, based on years of research, that by allowing children to express themselves physically we are also encouraging cognitive development. In other words, the brain and the body work together to create a better way for children to learn. Our Outdoor Curriculum focuses on language, cognitive, social and emotional development, bringing in elements of science, math, and even social studies.
