Daycare & Preschool

In Leon Springs, Texas

Welcome to Country Home Learning Center in Leon Springs, locally owned and serving this community since 2008. We’re proud to be the trusted partner of families in Leon Springs, Scenic Oaks, Cross Mountain, and The Dominion, including children from McAndrew, Aue, and Leon Springs elementaries through our after-school and summer camp programs. With experienced teachers, hands-on learning, home cooked meals, and a Cognia-accredited curriculum that balances academics and play, we prioritize every child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

We welcome children from 6 weeks through 13 years, providing infant and toddler care, preschool and kindergarten classes, as well as after-school and summer camp programs. Our Texas Rising Star certified center is more than just a daycare, it’s a place where curiosity is encouraged, creativity is celebrated, and every child feels right at home.

Our optional programs include TOT® Basketball, Soccer Shots, and WEBBY Dance & Gymnastics.

We believe every child deserves to be truly seen, and that starts with who’s in the room. Our teacher-to-child ratios are lower than Texas state licensing standards at every age, so your child gets more one-on-one time, more meaningful connections, and more of the attentive care they deserve. It’s one of the many ways we seek to know your child and encourage their development.

We’d love to show you around. Come tour our campus and see why families have chosen Country Home for over 40 years!

FAQs

About Childcare at Country Home Learning Center

Why do families stay with Country Home Learning Center Leon Springs long-term?2026-05-26T09:08:22-04:00

Because the relationships built here are real and lasting. Children who start as infants grow up knowing their teachers, and families become part of a community of parents who’ve been on the same journey.  Our teacher-to-child ratios are lower than Texas state licensing standards at every age, so your child gets more one-on-one time, more meaningful connections, and more of the attentive care they deserve. In an area like Leon Springs, where people put down roots and stay, that kind of continuity in childcare is exactly what families tell us they are looking for when they tour our center.

Do you have a waitlist for your Leon Springs location?2026-04-28T17:26:14-04:00

Availability varies, and infant spots in particular tend to fill quickly. We recommend reaching out as early as possible, even before your baby arrives, to learn about current openings. Contact our Leon Springs campus directly, and we’ll walk you through your options.

What should parents look for when choosing childcare in the Leon Springs area?2026-04-28T17:36:34-04:00

Start with the things that you value the most. Many families value staff tenure, class size, and the environment when you walk in unannounced when deciding where to send their children. Look for accreditation, such as Cognia, which holds programs to the same standards as accredited K-12 schools, and Texas Rising Star, which indicates a center exceeds the requirements in the state of Texas. Ask about meals, ask about safety protocols, and pay attention to whether staff seem to know the children by name. Every item on that list is something we’d invite any parent to come and verify for themselves at our Leon Springs location.

Is your Leon Springs center a good fit for families relocating to the Northwest San Antonio area?2026-04-28T17:23:15-04:00

Yes, we love to have families that are new to community! Families moving to Leon Springs, Fair Oaks Ranch, or Boerne are often navigating a lot of change at once, and finding a childcare center they can trust quickly matters. Our established reputation, structured programs, and welcoming staff make the transition easier. Many relocating families tell us that enrolling at Country Home was one of the first things that made their new community feel like home.

What safety measures are in place at your Leon Springs campus?2026-05-26T09:12:13-04:00
At Country Home Learning Center, the well-being of every child is our highest priority. Your child’s safety isn’t a policy; it’s our promise to you. We are committed to creating a safe, clean, and nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and grow with confidence. Our staff follows strict health and safety procedures designed to protect children and maintain a secure learning environment for families and employees.
From the moment you walk through our doors, safety is built into everything at Country Home Learning Center. Our building uses a controlled entry system, so only authorized individuals ever set foot inside. Every classroom is designed for clear, unobstructed visibility, so no child is ever out of a teacher’s sight. Our administrators monitor classrooms to ensure that safety procedures are consistently followed, and all staff are required to pass thorough background checks both before they’re hired and throughout their employment. Outside, our children play in fully fenced, secure areas, and every off-site activity or field trip is carefully planned with safety as the priority.
Is your Leon Springs campus Texas Rising Star certified?2026-04-28T17:19:42-04:00

Yes. Texas Rising Star is a quality rating system administered by the Texas Workforce Commission that certifies programs exceeding the state’s minimum childcare licensing standards. Earning this certification gives families an independent, third-party confirmation of the quality they’ll experience when they visit our campus.

How long has Country Home Learning Center been serving families in the Leon Springs area?2026-04-28T17:31:22-04:00

Country Home Learning Center has been serving Texas families since 1982, and our Leon Springs location reflects that long-standing commitment to quality childcare. Our history provides a solid foundation for your child’s early education, and a decades-long reputation that you can trust.

What do parents value most about your Leon Springs campus, and why do they choose you?2026-04-28T17:38:47-04:00

Most often, families point to many of the same things: teachers who genuinely know their child, the consistency of care from one year to the next, small class sizes, and our campus where your child can explore outside in our shaded playground and water park, engage in dramatic play in our Theater-Arts room, and our soccer fields and gym where your child can develop their gross motor skills.

What makes Country Home Learning Center different from newer or larger daycares in Leon Springs?2026-04-28T17:42:30-04:00

As a long-standing, locally owned center, we bring something newer facilities are still working to build: a proven track record, experienced staff who’ve been with us for years, and a reputation that families in this area have relied on for decades. Our Cognia accreditation and Texas Rising Star certification set us apart as an early learning center that helps your child exceed standards and truly grow.

Do you offer an accredited preschool program at your Leon Springs campus?2026-04-28T17:41:53-04:00

Yes. Our curriculum is accredited by Cognia, the same accreditation body that evaluates K-12 public and private schools. Our program is also Texas Rising Star certified. This means our program meets rigorous, nationally recognized standards for educational quality. This kind of independent validation helps our families feel confident they’re making the right choice.

What communities do you serve, and how convenient is your Leon Springs location?2026-04-28T17:39:53-04:00

We serve families from Leon Springs, Fair Oaks Ranch, Boerne, and Northwest San Antonio. Our location at the I-10 and Camp Bullis Road corridor makes us one of the most practical drop-off points for families commuting between Boerne and San Antonio.

Are meals provided at your Leon Springs campus?2026-05-26T09:14:56-04:00

Yes, we serve home-cooked meals prepared fresh every day. We are proud to offer nutritious, home-cooked meals. Our morning snack, hot lunch, and afternoon snack are prepared at the center and served in each classroom. All of our meals are well-balanced and planned to meet your child’s nutritional requirements. Our menus are posted monthly, and copies are available from the Director. You are welcome and encouraged to drop by and join your child for lunch when your schedule permits. Just let us know by 10:00 a.m. so that we can include you in our lunch plans. We ask that our parents encourage their children to either eat breakfast before coming to school or join us for our optional breakfast program. This gives your child the extra fuel needed for a busy morning.

How do your class sizes support individualized learning?2026-05-26T09:30:27-04:00

We intentionally keep our classes small so that teachers can do what they do best: foster your child’s growth. Our teacher-to-child ratios are lower than Texas state licensing standards at every age, so your child gets more one-on-one time, more meaningful connections, and more of the attentive care they deserve. We work hard to understand how your child learns, what excites them, and what they need on a hard day. In a larger center, that kind of attention gets harder to sustain. At Country Home Learning Center, this type of individualized care is built into how we operate.

What age groups do you serve, and can my child stay with you long-term?2026-04-28T17:13:39-04:00

We provide care for children from infancy through school age, including toddler, preschool, kindergarten, after-school care, and summer camp programs tailored to support each developmental stage. Many families enroll their children as infants or toddlers and stay through elementary school in our after-school and summer programs because of the consistency of care and the strong relationships their children build with our staff over time. That continuity is something parents in this area tell us they value most.

How do you prepare children academically and socially for elementary school?2026-04-28T17:15:24-04:00

Our Cognia-accredited program focuses on reading readiness, verbal and language development, math concepts, the creative arts, and the reinforcement of cognitive skills. But academic preparation is only part of what we seek to grow in your child.  We’re equally intentional about social and emotional development. From how we structure group time to how teachers guide children through conflict and help them build friendships, we’re preparing kids for the full experience of elementary school, not just the academic side.

About Country Home Learning Center’s Exceptional Child Care Programs

“I LOVE this learning center! I’ve had my 3 kids at CHLC at Leon Springs for over a year, and they are thriving! As a pediatrician, safety and academics are extremely important to me. As a Mom, I prioritize the social development and emotional well being of my children. CHLC at Leon Springs upholds these same values. They have exceeded my very high expectations!

CHLC has amazing resources that stimulate my children physically, academically, and socially. My oldest gets to go on enlightening field trips every month, such as Adventure Quest, the Aquarium, and Magic Theatre. The teachers are patient and loving. I truly feel that they care about the well being of my kids. Many of them have worked at this location for years and seem very happy at work. They are brilliant when it comes to childhood development! I have sought their advice several times.

Everyone here knows my children by name. It’s like one large family. They have several family-oriented events throughout the year. The Boo Fest is a must! They use biannual parent-teacher conferences and frequent notifications to keep me engaged and updated on my children’s progress. When I have had concerns, which have been rare, they have been heard and addressed quickly. I recommend this early learning center to family and neighbors without hesitation!”

Crystal D. , Country Home Learning Center Leon Springs Parent

“Country Home Learning Center has been an incredible experience for my 2-year-old! The staff always welcomes us with a warm smile, and the teachers are excellent. My child has bonded well with them and is always excited to go to day care. The activities keep my little one engaged and learning while having fun. The best part has been seeing my child so happy and thriving here. I highly recommend it!”

Able A. , Country Home Learning Center Leon Springs Parent

“Country Home is the best! I am a mother of four, and every single one of my kids has attended Country Home. The staff have always been very loving and attentive to each of their needs, and my kids all loved coming here! My youngest has been on the slower side when it comes to eating solid food and wanting to walk, but his teachers have been so helpful and patient with him! He even eats better at school than he does for me at home most days. We have been lucky to have a place like Country Home to trust with our kids while we are at work. Thanks for all you do!”

Emily C. , Country Home Learning Center Leon Springs Parent

“I can’t say enough GREAT things about this learning center. I have 2 kids who go here. I have been blessed to say that my kids have had some amazing long-term teachers. The front office staff are VERY organized and communicate well with the families. I love the kids’ music that is always playing in the front office. It always feels like a happy place. The school is always doing fun activities with the kids. We have been here for 7 years and will be very sad to say goodbye next year when my youngest will start public school.”

Margaret S. , Country Home Learning Center Leon Springs Parent

“I just wanted to take the time to thank everyone at Country Home for taking such great care of our daughters! I’m so impressed that in just a short time, I’ve seen both my 3- and 4-year-olds flourish socially and academically. My oldest will be more than prepared for kindergarten thanks to the amazing curriculum in her class. My kids come home happy and excited about their day which is a great feeling for a working mom! The teachers have always been so friendly and energetic, and are truly loving towards our daughters. They create a really positive environment. We have complete peace of mind every day they are there. I have recommended Country Home to many of my friends and will continue to do so!”
