Life is busy, isn’t it? It doesn’t take long for open schedules to get filled with appointments, activities, playdates, and more. Sometimes, the day has passed before we know it. In the midst of managing schedules and trying to make sure that everything gets done, it can be easy to let quality time with your kids fall to the backburner. We’ll be the first to say that sometimes that’s just life. Some seasons are busier than others, and if you’re in a busy season that you just need to make it through alive, we get that.

But if you think you have the capacity in your schedule to set aside 10 to 15 minutes a day to spend one-on-one with your child, we encourage you to do just that. Really, just 10 to 15 minutes can make a big impact on the littles ones in our lives. Quality time doesn’t need to be extravagant or lengthy; it actually can be quite simple.   4. Color together.
  5. Bake cookies (even the pre-made kind!).
  6. Play a game.
  7. Listen to new music together.
  8. Look through old photos.
  9. Run an errand together.
  10. Have hot chocolate at home or a local coffee shop.

Once you’ve made it through the list above, start from the top again or get creative! There’s no rules with quality time. Do a chore together, drive somewhere together…it doesn’t matter what it is, as long as you’re together. At the end of the day, your child just wants to be with you. Spending quality time with them will make them feel more special than you can imagine!
