This weekend we celebrate America’s 244th birthday. While this year and summer look a lot different than previous years, there are still a lot of fun ways your family can celebrate the Fourth of July together this year. From themed meals to festive activities, we have a feeling this might be a July 4th your kids will remember forever.

Red, White, and Blueberry Breakfast
Why not kick the day off with a themed breakfast? Here are some ideas to coordinate your breakfast with America’s colors. Top your favorite breakfast item with strawberries, blueberries, and whipped cream, or raspberries, blackberries, and marshmallows!

Play for the Home Team
You might not be able to go watch a ballgame, but why not put together a family baseball or t-ball game at home? You don’t need a full lineup to have a great time pitching, hitting, and catching pop flies with your little ones. There’s not much better than getting active as a family and enjoying the fresh air. Bonus points if you have apple pie afterwards!

Water Balloon Fight (or toss!)
Cool off after your big ball game with some old fashioned water balloons–red, white, and blue, of course. See how far apart you can stand before someone drops the balloon and gets soaked.

Make a Patriotic Dessert Together

Do you have a little one who loves to help in the kitchen? Let him or her be your sous chef for this holiday’s special dessert. Flag cakes and fruit pizzas are classic choices, or you can try one of these delicious no-bake desserts!

Family Movie Time
Rent an American-themed movie from the library or stream one. Here are some ideas!

If the weather permits, take your movie night to the backyard for an extra special time. Don’t forget the sparklers!

However you decide to celebrate with your family, we wish you a very happy Fourth of July!
