Quick and Healthy Dessert Ideas

Written by Country Home Learning Center on February 10, 2020

It’s the second month of the year, which means it’s most likely starting to get tempting to slack off on any new year goals to eat better as a family. We strongly believe in moderation, so we hope you’ll enjoy your favorite Valentine’s Day chocolate or dessert. But in the long run, finding healthier ways to satisfy your family’s sweet teeth can be a challenge.  We’ve picked out some dessert recipes to help keep you and your family on track with yummy and healthier eating this year. These healthier desserts will hit that sweet spot without taking up too much of your precious time.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bites
These bite-sized desserts are perfect to make ahead of time and store in the freezer. But we have a feeling they won’t last very long… they’re too delicious!

Pan Fried Cinnamon Bananas
This simple treat is easy to whip up, and it’s a great way to use up any ripe bananas you have lying around.

No Bake Peanut Butter Granola Cups
What’s better than a no-bake dessert? A healthy no-bake dessert! These peanut butter cups are sugar free and full of fiber.

Apple Pizzas
Sliced apples, honey, granola, coconut, or any of your favorite toppings come together for a tasty treat. Get creative with your dessert pizzas by using other fruits as the “crust,” such as pineapple or melon. You could even slice up kiwi for mini fruit pizzas!

Fresh Fruit
When all else fails, fruit is a quick and healthy dessert option. Eat it alone or pair it with peanut butter, dark chocolate, Greek yogurt, or even other fruits.

Eating healthy doesn’t mean you have to deprive yourself of the best meal, dessert. It just means you have to get creative and find new recipes. Try these out, and let us know which ones you like best. Here’s to making healthier choices together!
