This free (donations appreciated), family-friendly resource is conveniently located in Austin’s Zilker park. With a rescue zoo, a pit for digging dinosaur bones, hiking trails, and hands-on activities, the Austin Science and Nature Center is a fun activity for anytime and everyone.
Mt. Playmore
For a place that will entertain the young and old, head over to Mt. Playmore. Locally owned and operated, this giant playscape features an obstacle course for kids and plenty of televisions for the parents. There’s a toddler zone, the restrooms are potty-training friendly, and the arcade will keep your little gamers happy.
Little Land Play Gym 
Similar to Mt. Playmore, but with more focus on the developmental learning that occurs when children play, Little Land Play Gym is a clean facility offering playtime for little ones and a wi-fi lounge for adults. Parents Night Out is a regular event at this business, and they also offer private occupational, physical, and speech therapy. It’s perfect for your special needs child and developmentally appropriate for all young children.
Hop N Happy
Kids love to bounce off the walls, and family-owned Hop N Happy lets all kids 10 and under do just that. This 9,000 square foot facility features plenty of bounce houses and slides, while the staff maintains a clean environment for play.
Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
Lady Bird left her mark on Texas with this beautiful botanical garden filled with flowers, butterflies, and a commitment to conservation and preservation. There are hiking trails and educational events year-round. Many parents suggest a membership for ultimate savings and enjoyment, and summer camps are also available.
