Valentine’s Day is here, and one of the best ways to celebrate with your preschoolers is to do crafts with them. Here are some creative Valentine’s Day-themed crafts to try this month that are perfect for little fingers.
1. Handprint Heart Tree
Hand tracing is a great way to start off any craft, and this one is no different. Try this handprint heart tree to encourage their fine motor skills.
You will need:
- Light blue and brown card stock or construction paper
- Glue stick
- Heart stickers
- Self-adhesive glitter hearts
Directions:
- Trace your child’s hand and upper arm on brown paper with a pencil, then cut it out. This will form the tree trunk and branches.
- Add glue to the back of the brown handprint, then attach it to the bottom of the blue paper.
- Add the heart stickers on the branches to resemble flowers.
- Display the heart tree on the fridge or have them write a special message on the back and give it as a Valentine’s card.
2. Valentine’s Craft Stick Frame
This cute craft is an adorable way to frame special photographs of your family and friends or even artwork your child has created.

Directions:
